My fave green juice…

About a year ago my husband and I saw a documentary about juicing called “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” by Joe Cross and it totally opened our eyes to the benefits of juicing and a healthy lifestyle.  This is such a great documentary and I highly recommend everyone watch it! It is inspiring and educational and so interesting! Right after we saw the movie we decided to buy a juicer and try it our for ourselves.  We headed to Bed Bath and Beyond and looked a bunch of different types of juicers, we didn’t want to spend a fortune on one but we wanted one that was going to work and juice fruits and greens with the same machine.  We decided to go with a Breville Ikon Juice fountain and luckily we had a 20% coupon which helped a lot! ( We thought like most impulse purchases we make like our waffle maker haha that we would only use it for a month and then stop.  Over a year later I use it almost every single day! My husband and I love it and my daughter now loves it too! She hardly ever has “regular” juice from the store since I drink it everyday she has started to drink it too and I love that its all natural and has no added sugars.

The great thing about having your own juicer is that you can customize your drink every single day.  This is one of my fave combinations, I love lemons and grapefruit, the more sour the better, but my husband hates them! He prefers combinations like oranges, carrots, and tomatoes.

The Combination

1 Grapefruit

2 Oranges

3 Stalks of Kale

1 Cup of Spinach

1 Apple

1 Tomato

3 Lemons

4 Carrots (Large)

This makes a full pitcher which is about 35 ounces, depending on your diet you can alter this to your needs, this is just one of my favorite combinations! If you have never juiced before I suggest you try it! There are so many health benefits and they taste delicious!
